What is the difference between body oil and body lotion?

Choosing between a body oil and body lotion can be confusing, but the mechanism with which they work is entirely different to keep our skin healthy. A body lotion is primarily water- based, designed to deliver quick hydration. While it provides an immediate feeling of moisture, its effect depends on the composition of humectants which can attract and hold moisture on the outer layer, making it ideal for dehydrated skin.

Should I use body oil or body lotion for dry skin?

A body oil, on the other hand, works by replenishing the skin’s natural lipid barrier. A well strengthened lipid barrier works as a protective layer to prevent moisture loss and keeps skin soft, smooth and supple. If your skin feels dry, rough and flaky despite using lotion, it might be lacking lipids rather than water. A nutrient dense body oil can be a rich source of essential fatty acids, antioxidants, plant sterols, minerals, vitamins and skin-identical lipids.

Are body oils greasy in humid weather?
Contrary to the common belief that body oils are thick and greasy, our focus was to make a nourishing yet lightweight formula. Inspired by Singapore’s warm, humid climate, our formula was intentionally designed to feel breathable rather than heavy and occlusive. Instead of coating the skin with a dense film, it absorbs quickly to deliver deep nourishment and reinforce the natural antioxidant defense mechanism of our body to survive harsh external stressors including your aircons, UV rays and temperature fluctuations.
